Started with one, didn’t bother him and figured he’d go away as long as he didn’t find food. Now there’s TWO. Thankfully they’re not destructive and appear to just forage for grubs and move on.

First thing you notice is SO MUCH EMPTY SPACE! You don’t really get an idea of just how much empty space makes up an atom until you see it this up close. This is what the specific atom looks like on paper if it helps anyone make a little better sense of what they’re looking at

I just found out about the current record for the closest image of an atom and it’s insane! This is a picture of 3 different types of atoms arranged into a crystal. The pairs of bright blobs joined together are praseodymium. The single bright blobs are scandium. And the faint red blobs are oxygen.

His name is Modelo he’s named after the beer :P
