We decided to cut our trip a little short and made the 4hr trip home. Our Fika (Dog) thought I was going to make us miss NFL Sunday Kick off. I assured her I had this. I could tell by the look she gave me that there was a little distrust. I didn’t let her down.

Such a beautiful river running through this National Forest. I still haven’t hooked into any Salmon as they are slow moving in and now with the weekend approaching I’m sure having this stretch of the river all to ourselves will be coming to a end until Sunday when people head back to work.

We went from solitude in the woods to being surrounded by friends and supporting a good cause. I will add that I was skeptical about attending this due to the potential for it being a very Polical event but I will say I only see American flags and one “I support PBS” flag. I’m very surprised

I’ve been disconnected for a couple weeks as I’m freeing up our lives a bit. We found out just how difficult it is to travel with a pet this past year so I jumped in to the RV life. We have taken it to Traverse City area for a week and are now planning a U.P trip but I have some decorations to add 😎

We had a great turnout for our AIS landing blitz. This was also an opportunity for Our local Conservation Officers to do some Public Outreach. Many of the people that showed up were from our surrounding lakes which is nice because they were actually our target 🎯😎.

Once again I’m disappointed to find out my assistant is missing a sample.
I actually tried to drop hints to him by saying I can get all the samples now to no avail. How do you fire a Volunteer ?

Today I was relaxing on the water in my mesh floaty all layed back in the hot sun about half baked watching the clouds and this Swan feather floats to me.The whiteness seemed so pure and really put me at a whole new level of relaxation for some reason.

A family of freshly hatched Mute Swans. As pretty as they appear they are not native and are very aggressive and will attack Kayakers and such. I’ve watched our two resident Swans kill entire family’s of Goslings in the past and they do keep the native Trumpeter Swans chased away.
