2/x But now I’m more perplexed as to why “Uncle Tom” is an insult. He had no choice about his lot in life but when it mattered most, he stood his ground, defended those he loved, and lost his life resisting his “master.” A hero in my eyes. Sambo or Quimbo would be a more apt denigration.
