While it was a challenge figuring out how to get the graphite and paint to play nice together I feel like the end result was well worth it. Especially when I started weathering and adding battle damage.

While it was a challenge figuring out how to get the graphite and paint to play nice together I feel like the end result was well worth it. Especially when I started weathering and adding battle damage.
Painted by hand using commercial spray/model paints as well as graphite.
The graphite was rubbed into a gloss black paint to create a more realistic Beskar instead of a metallic spray paint.

I decided to paint a black series prototype helmet since I didn’t want to deal with primer/sanding/primer/sanding, etc…. on a 3D print.
