I'm a recovering techie turned (part-time) vanlifer, but still happy to have an internet debate after all these years, lol.
I threw out a “ban guns” post on Threads today, and boy did that draw out a slew of logical fallacies, idiot takes, and “God given right” responses!

Just read "Careless People". I've never worked at FB, but from what I know of it plus what I know of Tech companies in general, I can accept most of the book at face value. The book is both horrifying and hilarious, often at the same time. Put it on your reading list.

Seattle's backlash to Musk is picking up steam. So many Teslas on Seattle streets purchased when people thought Musk was trying to reduce carbon emissions.

I wonder how many are now wanting to get rid of their swasticars?

Hilarious! Let's hope this leads to even slower new car sales and a booming secondary market. #tesla

People are selling devices with TikTok pre-loaded on it because you can't get TikTok from the app stores rn.

This is CRAZY. It's not worth it, people. It will become available again, but you're probably better off without it anyway.

The Trump economy has resulted in lower egg prices and more jobs.... Sorry, that should read higher egg prices (when you can find them) and less jobs.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Congress passed a law banning TikTok and the Supreme Court unanimously upheld it. For the purported good of Americans.

Now do gun control.

Photographers: How do you pack your gear? Do you cram it all into as few bags as possible or keep it organized with separate bags for each type?

Trying to balance weight vs bag count. Body+lenses max out my PD pack, but I also have 3 drones, action cam, and 360 cam. What’s your system?

A year from now, there will probably be no need for anyone to write a 2025 retrospective. Just post this pic.

It's unclear what the NYT is trying to get us to think about the Millers. Is it a cautionary tale of social media fame? Did he die a tragic death that wasn't his fault? Is Candace a horrible person for driving this?

At this point, who is feeling bad for this lot?

America's leaders have normalized political violence. Whether it's Jan 6 or every mass shooting that goes un-actioned because keeping one's position in Congress is more important than challenging the status quo.

This is only going to get worse.

Man, many of the comments on the shooting of Brian Thompson the UHC CEO are brutal.

IMO, it's another symptom of where American are at these days, along with Trump being re-elected. People are wanting to burn down the institutions & people they feel are causing them to be left behind.

I am contemplating exiting the Kindle/Audible ecosystem, but am wondering about stranding all the content I have already purchased. And I do like the sync between devices/modalities.

Anyone else make the move to Kobo or something similar and have it be relatively painless? #books
