California halibut are thriving in San Francisco Bay. Here is an adult fish caught this morning in Lower South Bay. Also been seeing lots of juveniles this winter.

I’m attending the @calnevaafs.bsky.social executive committee annual retreat today.

Was out this week in the Alviso Marsh to collect Longfin Smelt for UC Davis culture program. Weather was waaaaay too nice for January.

You can kind of see the longfin smelt in this pick. We have the first F1 cultured fish reaching maturity. Hopefully closing the culture loop shortly.
