Agreed! My wife's from NYC, and we've been visiting often for many years. Back in the day when buildings were intentionally burned to the ground, trash everywhere, and serious gang activity, is a far cry from how much the City has improved.

Indeed, NYC is never going to recover from a bright, socially conscious, liberal/progressive, candidate who respects all faiths and ethnicities, and who also trounced two of his competitors in the Mayoral primary. Oh the humanity! (sarcasm, to be clear)

"Here's the deal," both Dems and Repubs did their best to reduce this legend to shambles. Yes, he should've been honest about his decline, but it he were a Repub (aka Reagan), it would've been a whole different treatment by his political supporters and the Party. Historians will respect JB, not DT.

I went to HBHS in the 1960's and it was indeed a cool surf town, brotherhood vibe. Embarrassing how it's morphed into MAGA and White Supremacy central.

Here in The LBC it's a progressive oasis. We live on Ocean Blvd., and from time-to-time, a long caravan of MAGA macho trucks parade with their "Trump Won" flags while blaring their horns. As if that's gonna convert any of us. Hardy har, har.
