Shit things happening are what I like to call “future anecdotes” while they’re happening. It’s (nearly) all funny when you look back at it.

We’ve had similar cold calls. We operate in a space where you could squint at a lot of what we do and claim it’s R&D but if you follow HMRC guidelines it’s clear that we wouldn’t qualify (or on v. shaky ground). Our accountant “I’m 100% sure you’d get the money, 99% sure they’ll ask for it back”
