Just need to put this out there. The suggestion by the electric vehicle council that ICE cars should be banned by 2035 is an “own goal”.
By 2030 the argument for EVs will be so sound there will be no need for coercion. A proposed ban just makes people cranky.

Looks like just another government revenue idea. instead maybe think about whether we want to encourage uptake of EVs instead. At least co-announce a big expansion of EV charging infrastructure to balance the discouragement of EV ownership.

If only councils would allow something like a charge gully (www.chargegully.com), the need for public charging stations in the inner city would be gone. And only 10 public chargers for 816 EVs in Port Melbourne. Completely inadequate. But typical for a non environmental council.
