BINGO. I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: no one is addressing the very 21st century phenomenon that led millions to re-elect to the White House the Internet Troll-in-Chief, which is the unfortunate increasing trend of Americans being mean to each online and also IRL, like playground bullies.

Lol *ouch* I saw MFM live in Seattle last month AND bought a t-shirt AND poster that’s now up on my bedroom wall. I think Karen and Georgia would be alarmed to hear their fans painted with that broad, pejorative brush. Many times a year, they donate large sums to progressive causes.

Interesting how things get associated with certain generations. I’m Gen X and I remember in high school in the early-90s staring at the stove clock in the kitchen, holding onto my wish hard until it turned to 11:12.

Thanks to the backwards way I was taught to read, I read Jerry’s post as: on ho

Yup. Except the internet troll persona is broader, encompassing all the millions who re-elected the Internet Troll-in-Chief back to the White House last year as their avatar of bittersweet and contempt.

Close: the predominant American persona in the 21st century is the online / IRL internet troll. This fascism ain’t like last century’s. Focusing on skin color is a red herring. It’s about lack of inhibitions (like Trump) and “owning” the mature, supercilious libs out there.

After the first two, my 16 year old said: “It’s about how everyone is blindly getting onboard for AI.” I said, “Sure, I see that. But I also see a broader umbrella where many metaphorical meanings can apply: group think (or collectivism) about anything vs individualism (or individuality)

The linguist George Lakoff wrote about this decades ago, but the Democratic Party didn’t heed his advice on framing 🤷‍♂️
