"Everyone's lost but me."
The more I think about it, the more impressed I am (and at six 25 minute episodes it doesn't outstay its welcome). In the mood I was in I found it sweet, charming, and genuinely life-affirming.

But I could imagine being in a different mood and finding it cloying. So choose your moment wisely!

Ah, I'm sure they had legitimate concerns.

... people in politics and the media must be held accountable for creating the hostile environment that emboldens thugs and bigots to commit these vicious acts.

Trying to burn babies to death as they sleep!? To hell with everyone involved. From the perpetrators, to those who incite them.

Would that be the appropriate response to vicious violence? Or would it be the gleefully monstrous wittering of a psychopath?

If found guilty, these attempted murderers deserve the maximum punishment under the law.

But not only that...

If there were people around the country committing violence against Catholic priests and attempting to burn them to death in their beds, would Simon Harris and the rest of our politicians, the very next day, take to the media to demand a debate on whether there were too many priests in Ireland?

It shouldn't need to be explained to anyone, so soon after the Soldier F verdict, why Irish people might not want to be socially obliged to donate to a charity committed to uncritically commemorating all British wars, including Iraq and Northern Ireland, and financially supporting their veterans.

I agree. But we can't be complacent.

Trust me, there are plenty over here (apparently now, including our government) who seem eager to import far right tropes and bigotry. The rise of fascism isn't happening as quickly here, but we're not immune.

Chasing the 200,000 rather than the 900,000 who voted for Connolly doesn't even make sense politically. On the surface it appears to be an admission that they sympathise with the far right. Worrying times.

Harry Kane is single-handedly winning the Bundesliga this season and he's not there either. These things are all subjective. Not only doesn't it make sense, it's not really even supposed to.

My big complaint about Herbie Hancock's tour is he only played one date in Dublin and it sold out before I heard about it.
