I flew Jetstar (CTS-NRT) earlier this year and I thought it was great.
At Narita, they’re located in a distant satellite-ish terminal but our itinerary had tons of connection time for our onward flight (NRT-YYZ, booked on one ticket) so it wasn’t a problem for us.

A replacement aircraft (and crew, I suppose) appears to now be enroute to MCO from YUL. It should arrive around 19:45 EDT. The diverted CCC-YYZ flight landed at MCO at approximately 12:50 EDT.

It’s just especially curious because C-GUBA recently also spent a month at one of the aircraft facilities located on the southwest side of the airport in Malta. I guess maybe Malta in February was for refurb and Nimes is for maintenance now, or vice versa.

For many (non-connecting) passengers, diverting to “within driving distance” YHM or YKF or YXU (the latter two only for single-aisle aircraft) would probably be preferable compared to YUL or 🇺🇸 (especially b/c YYZ is closed for rest of today) but these airports have only seen a handful of diversions.

Because your flight was delayed 3-6 hours and the reason was within the airline’s control (“crew delay” as stated in their own message to you) and not directly safety related, you are eligible for $400 in APPR compensation from them + they should’ve provided you with a meal voucher at the airport.

Well, the airline would’ve/should’ve already known by 10pm EST/7pm PST last evening that your flight this morning would be delayed 4+ hours because the incoming YYZ-SFO aircraft was that much late last night, and its crew would need their mandated overnight rest before operating your SFO-YYZ flight.

I’m pretty sure WestJet has been doing similar (and with a mainline 737) aircraft for many years on their YYC-YKF-YYC routing.

I know ‘twas a 1 in 12 possibility but still cool that we flew on the same aircraft (C-GOIX) on both flights of our vacation last week to/from different 🇵🇹 airports.
And, LOL, I had booked the same seats (13HJK) on both legs when we bought the tickets.

Booking dot com has a “rooms and beds” filter; you can also filter for hotels only. The results are usually a bit chaotic but you might find a few that are suitable.
