“A Coming Storm” by Sanford Robinson Gifford.

“The future ain’t what it used to be.”

Yogi Berra
Never thought I’d see the day when America is promoting autocratic executive with absurd displays of the image of the president.
He occupies an office founded in public service, not personal aggrandizement.

Is “Mind like a steel colander” a thing? Because it very much applies to our Nimrod-in-Chief.

What on earth does she imagine happens in these bathrooms? They’re accessible to all, that’s all it means.
A is apparently for asshole.

The next Leo the tenth?

“Leo X then convinced believers they could buy their way to heaven, selling indulgences that would reduce their sins.”

New Pope Donnie: “…and, if you act now, my indulgences come in special NFT & meme coin forms!”

Still the unvarnished truth fo the matter, and it wouldn’t even fill a page.

It’s a golden age alright-golden age of sickophancy. (New spelling for Trump era),

Each time I pass this statue of Grant sitting astride his horse, I wonder what kind of horrors he witnessed during those long years, & how he’d feel if he knew the union he so desperately fought for might perish, for reasons we cannot fully fathom.

You’d probably appreciate the author’s perspective, as he wrote an entire book about how remarkably short sighted the demonization of federal workers is.
They manage risks the private sector doesn’t want to touch because there’s no money in protecting life safety & welfare, but that’s real work.

Capt Trump:”So I can drive this thing? What happens when I spin the big wheel here? Do tariffs get set like roulette wheel?”

CRUNCCHHHH.

Lt Nutlick:”Oh, no problem at all sir, just a fender bender! We’ll have it all rebuilt before the end of your term, I promise!”

Isn’t there an element of both, in equal measures of hypocrisy, as guy who took 5 straight college deferments looks to shore his military cred with supremely ostentatious, ridiculous waste of $100 million in tax monies at time we’re finding efficiencies?
April 8, 2025 at 6:49 PM
Only those who have become so steeped in Trumpism cannot see parallels as our laws & rights to due process are being challenged or outright ignored every day.
April 4, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Yes, remember the tyranny of those infrastructure funds yielding jobs & putting $ into people’s pockets, from engineering design to domestic materials fabrication to hourly wages for construction? The horrors of our tax $’s at work creating safer roads & bridges while giving local economies a boost!
