Now I understand food noise. Food no longer calls to me. Food is just food. In fact, if I crave anything, I crave healthier foods, more colorful foods. I can walk past chocolate and not obsess about it. For those of us who struggle with weight, it's not about willpower. It’s #foodnoise #ahamoment /6

Now I meet with a dietitian who keeps me honest & has to remind me to eat! LOL. But she's providing sound nutritional advice. Despite my ADHD, hypothyroidism & some foot challenges (limited mobility ATM), I am losing weight because someone finally listened to me and treated the root cause. /5

Luckily I started with an online MD at Weight Watchers who first suggested getting treated for ADHD before attempting to diet once he heard about my stories of the many failed attempts. I found a psych clinic locally who treats ADHD but they also have a medical weight loss clinic. /4

I’m losing fat, not muscle because I’m losing it so slowly. I’ve never felt better. I wish more medical doctors would take the time to listen to their patients when weight loss struggles are discussed. “Just eat less & exercise more” is bogus advice. It's rarely that simple. Don't “just” at me! /3

Now that I’m medicated I’m less stressed, think clearly & don’t feel overwhelmed. The bonus is that the meds also stop binge eating. They also stop food noise. I eat healthier, take time to plan my meals, and track my intake faithfully. I’ve very slowly lost 17 pounds. Halfway there! /2
