1956 vintage but 45 at most in my head. Sustained by hope that us good people outnumber the bad and the haters. Love reading, poetry, gardening, radio.. Oh and chocolate. Dancing to Faithless and Rage Against the Machine is such good exercise.
I still have spectacular fuscias I grew under a shady hedge. Not usually something I'd grow but they light up the shade.

As witnessed by Steve. Brilliant.

I've still got my Tony Benn for Deputy badge - one of the few things about all that hard work that still makes me smile. I don't recognise these people.

In 1979, at the age of 23, I joined the Labour Party to fight Thatcher. Spent 18 years working for the party. Leaflet delivering, door knocking, CLP secretary, Conference delegate, local councillor. Was still up for Portillo. Then got uproariously drunk.

My understanding is that a badger out during the day is pretty desperate for food. It's been so dry across most of the UK this Spring that they may be in difficulty. Lovely to see but quite worrying.

I can't remember the name of it. I remember watching fish coming straight off a boat just yards away and straight into the café. And a proper pot of tea. I'm glad your wife loved your mystery tour.

To quote President Zelensky 'We're not playing cards.'
Best riposte to Trump and Vance.
If the UK is it's solitaire - thanks to Brexit.

I hope it'll be all over US television...

Then slight changes of direction and some courses and never looked back. The joy of being 'forced' to go clubbing with your son and all his friends in my 40s was a joy. My youngest is 46 with a 6 year old and thinks he should have done it in his 20s. Then the career and clubbing. I think he's right

My Mum had me aged 19 in 1956, Bro 3 years later. She never planned on having a career. I had my two sons before I was 23. Stayed at home until they started school. At 28 I started work. A lucky appointment at a college working with unemployed people, supervising then managing by 32.

It's obscene and the Today programme comment is too.

I'm wondering how long it will be before we'll need to support Ukraine to reclaim their country from the US.

A bit too end of the world gloomy.. I can do the Today programme for that. Got to find some joy to get through this. Might try a bit of Rage Against the Machine today 👊😀

I started my day with a bit of REM. The End of the World as We Know It followed by Shiny Happy People. Dancing, singing and smiling. 68 & 11 months and I'm not going to let the bastards get me down. Good exercise too.

I heard it serialised on R4 - definitely on my list to read.

Beggars belief. Well it would if we hadn't seen his ignorance on show before. He's now not just ignorant and downright rude but increasingly very dangerous.
And an arse hole.
