Simply my opinion, but I suspect it will depend on what this administration has in mind for the EU. If they experience, or even expect, punitive measures they may act on their own. If they were playing the long game, they would see this as their opportunity to outpace the US in tech, etc.

Yes. It should be rescinded immediately by the EU Commission. I would argue that the end of Chevron deference by the Supreme Court last year was the actual hammer blow to dispel any pretense of adequate protection, but the framework was already flimsy.

This is a coup. I suppose we won’t see any outrage until tax refunds don’t go out, bond interest payments stop, Medicare reimbursements cease…there will be no more Social Security checks or school lunch program. Game over. #WakeUpAmerica

Privacy professional here… hard agree, this is likely a massive data breach unlike anything previously seen. While it’s more likely Musk and his ilk are after control of the $$, I’m sure the data will also come in handy for other nefarious purposes…
