Happy to report that I successfully completed the iconic 20 Bridges Swim around Manhattan. 30 miles over 10 hours in challenging conditions. Not bad for a newbie open water swimmer near 60 years old. Wasn’t sure I could do it, but you never know until you try. Keep swinging for the fences!!!

Looks like it’s going to happen. I was accepted to swim the 28.5 mile 20 Bridges Marathon around NYC this summer. If your goals don’t scare you a bit, you’re not reaching far enough. I’m old and still a relative newbie to long distance open water swimming, but we’ll get it done!

I drafted my policy recommendations to President Carter in crayon. I was 6 or 7 years old. He responded thanking me for my deep concern for the well being of the nation. I carried this note around with pride for months. Now it’s my turn to thank him for his life of service and concern for all people
