To bring the story to a close, my cheerleading buddy had to go home early yesterday.
So while I'm sad we didn't get our moment in the sun together, I'm relieved I didn't have to make a fool of myself! The cheerleaders were all adorable and perfect. And the other teachers were all really good too!

I know the risks. Happily with this class, I have good relations (so they know I'm kidding around with them) and I know most of my moms. A friendly phone call home in September saves a lot of pain in November!
