My heart is crying for Los Angeles
Los Angeles, today was A LOT. Multiple immigration raids, people being kidnapped by faceless nameless captors who may or may not be actual ice agents. Burbank airport, Avelo airlines and freight runners being complicit in illegal deportations without due process. David Huerta, SEIU president being unjustly detained My neighbors being assaulted with tear gas and pepper bullets. It’s all too much and that’s what they want. Breathe, rest, pace yourself, but remain vigilant.

DEMOCRATIC LEADERS, WE NEED TO HAVE A CHAT — TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS It is deeply disappointing when Democratic leaders like our Governor Gavin Newsom, who campaigned on being a LGBTQ champion, turns their back on one of our most vulnerable communities and betrays them. We simply cannot condone the undoing of all the progress that has been achieved for our trans siblings to live authentically. Trans people deserve to be treated with respect. The fear and rhetoric that is being spewed by people we used to trust is why our country is in the current state of disarray. As public officials you must take responsibility for your actions and represent ALL people. EXPECTATION VS REALITY The Expectation: Dems, SOTU was your opportunity to act. The American people are watching in terror as the United States, a country that is supposed to represent freedom, is being dismantled before our very eyes. Lies are being reported as facts. We EXPECT you to be the truth tellers. We need you to fight for us. You are our representatives. This is your duty. We need you to do more than sit on the sidelines. We need you to ACT! The revolution is now, the world is watching you. The Reality: You held paddles. We are beyond symbolic gestures. Standing in solidarity with Representative Al Green is the baseline of where we need you to be. Your silence is astounding. BEST ADVICE This is the most tumultous time in our history. Our government is being dismantled. People are living in fear. Many are losing their jobs, their safety nets, and some-their lives. What you do or don't do, will go on record. Be the party that we need you to be. We need to be UNITED in our values. We need strong bold leadership that is not afraid to fight. We need you to stand for something because your inaction is causing us to fall for everything. This is the time to become a good example of unapologetic courage. Prove to us that you believe the American people are worth fighting for, because if you continue to do nothing, we will remember the next time you ask for our vote.

Tonight was a gut punch. The GOP are unhinged and will sacrifice our most vulnerable to satisfy their billionaire overlords. Medicaid is the only way 1.9M Americans with dementia can afford memory care and live with dignity.

This is a death sentence.
My mother worked for 50 years, raised me, took in downtrodden relatives, and volunteered at her church. She was vibrant until she developed dementia. I watched her slip away. Medicaid provided a lifeline to the care she needed. The GOP guts it like a pig...to feed the rich.

Happy Caturday! Four years ago I decided to get my cat Scully a friend, so I visited the East Valley Animal Shelter. This is where a Wendy, a volunteer, introduced me to this sweet timid little kitten we now call Minxy. I held her and immediately she hid in my hair! That’s when I knew she was mine.
