Changes…

My paternal Grandfathers gravesite. I had some fun times listening to him play his accordion and eat dumplings and duck or goose at the holiday, (always had a special one he’d fattened up, waiting for that day). The kolaches were a real treat when I visited him. Hero no less, the memories priceless.
My Grandfather on my Dad’s side was a WW2 veteran. His gravestone and plaque with a flag and some flowers are present. He did not die in the war but was given a 10 gun salute at his funeral. He died from stomach cancer in 1995. Backside of my paternal Grandfathers headstone reads; tech 5 US Army WW2. A flag on his headstone is waving in the direction of the wind, clouds and some blue skies overhead. The WW2 plaque at my Grandfathers gravesite. A circular plaque with an eagle, wings spread through the cutout center. The words “World War Two” are written across the top of the plaque.

Today…flowers and bluebird skies…and the tulips are definitely becoming…
Yellow daffodil at full bloom. Last one left that didn’t wilt. Soaking up the suns rays. Blue sky above Lincoln Nebraska. No clouds. Tulip bulb turning red and almost ready to open. Red tulips newly blooming in the sunshine.

Old general store and church in the small town of Loma NE. The town was a Czech settlement, church dates 1911 ish. The town and tavern were used in recent years as a location to film the movie “To Wong Foo”. The current population is around 54 per 2024 census. Loma is a Czech settlement in Nebraska. It’s also close to a known location by locals as the “Bohemian Hills” of Nebraska. The Church dates 1911-ish.
