I think he played pretty well in this game. But he is usually taken out of rotation when they are defending the lead in the end, which probably is wise anyway.

He earned his spot in the upper lines with good performance in the 4th line, very good to see it getting rewarded. I think he looked good in that Wright line, did the backchecking and defending responsibilities well, so no reason not to start him up there in the next game, right?

Yeah. I mean, the season wasn’t good, and coaches are not only innocent bystanders, but come on, who can expect ANY new coach to get results within one season, especially when bringing in a new system. Seems like the office is in panic-mode and now I have nightmares about Torts taking over…

This is super news! I would assume Joey can’t play back-to-back-to-back vs Preds, Flyers & Caps, so unless they send him back down, I guess debut vs Flyers maybe? It would make no sense to get him up to NHL just to serve as a backup, right?
