Fail to invite Trump, and you’d probably end up with an arena or some other attention-grabbing alternative SOTU. Why not have the House work some Saturdays (like in olden times) and schedule the address for 10am?

Couldn’t a Democratic Senator take the materials to the floor and simply start reading them until a Republican interjected?
