Smug, wretched laughter bubbles from Jason. Dick for his part tries to play it off, pretend at regret and call the whole thing a mistake made in the heat of the moment. Jason never ever made anything easy for himself though.

He finally recognizes the cold pit of resentment for what it is, and Jason— Jason isn't stupid! Now he recognizes it too.
There's brief moment of vulnerability in his eyes that gives Dick a sick satisfaction. But then something seems to dawn on him and that look transforms into an awful smile.

At first Dick thinks his impulse to tear and bite at Jason, to drag him by the hair or collar and stand above him is just carnal attraction expressing itself atypically bc of taboo.
But then he actually goes and sleeps with Jason... and it's not that hard.
He's not torn up about it.

Dick is a good friend, a dutiful son, and he puts effort into being a good older brother. But Jason aggravates him in way no one else can, and he always veers juuust a little nasty. It's always an off-hand joke, "gentle" ribbing. Jason doesn't really react so it's all fine, right?
