OK time to check in on StL bsky which seems to be only people who are super affected by...everything?

I'm sure reaction to snow will be normal.

Dang, the rapture-mongering online lately rivals what 12-year-old Josh saw every Sunday morning and Wednesday night in 1994.

Dare to be the person in the meeting who asks a question to which the answer is "Because that's the whole point of the project".

Embrace coming off as an unhinged lamebrain in a room full of the smartest people you know.

Just real Monday stuff over here. 🤷

As a child, I was told by many cartoons & comics that we would have future robots to do the boring-ass chores like dishes & laundry so we could spend that time reading & writing & watching movies & listening to/making music & thinking & pondering INSTEAD. It sucks so much we got the OPPOSITE of that

Let those AI slop chatbots ruin the em dash; keep their planet-killing hands off my semicolon.

Friends, I highly recommend you check out the show "Common Side Effects" if you have HBO. Even more than that, though, stream the soundtrack from the show. Really good jams. Some dance, some funk, bit of everything and it's nearly all new to me.

Sweet Uncle Baby Billy, the emails are endless today!

I don't like seeing the following words in church names:

Calvary
Shepherd/Shepard
Lady
Bible
Infant

These give me the creeps. Please replace ASAP thank you.

Saw this bait posted, don't want to directly contribute any support to these kind of accounts.

But I do want you all to know...yes, I absolutely do. I'm fully aware of my leisurely, quiet, LOOOONG moments...the kind I can have any time I want. Mornings and evenings are glorious.

St. Louis get a bunch of dirty rain again today?

@dieworkwear.bsky.social Hi Derek! I recently bought and had tailored a suit from Spier and Mackay...my second based on your recommendation, and I love it. This one has higher-rise pants and I find them sagging through the day. Do I add buttons for braces, add darts, or go with some clip suspenders?

Seeing a lot of immediate takes chalking up today's money/market news to backtracking on a stupid decision because of bad consequences. But we're too deep in this thing to ignore that this is probably just blatant market manipulation, right?

@bentonparkprints.bsky.social Hi Dan! Saw you this morning at TGP about Pork Steak shirts. Turns out I really need one before Thursday...is there a way for me to pick one up this week?

Walton Goggins in the recent White Lotus episode with Sam Rockwell... That's the embodiment of the "We listen and we don't judge" meme.

@bentonparkprints.bsky.social Hi Daniel! Do you have any more Pork Steak Aficianado t-shirts? If not, can I order one somehow?

Respectfully, I'm not watching Righteous Gemstones for Cradley Boopler. I'm here for Uncle Baby Billy, Judy, and Keefe. Fingers crossed for next week.

Had a professional conversation with a fellow scientist today about a drug called anakinra. Long story short, got to respond to a question with, "I'm kind of a medium Star Wars guy".

#stlouis I need a roof vent installed for bathroom fans that just dump into attic. Anyone had this done, and can you tell me by whom?

Some of the smartest, most hardworking people I know have come to rely on AI for certain tasks.

I'm disheartened for other reasons, but also because I think it's a symptom of some insidious need to overwork. Optimizer pathology.
Every review of AI is like: This isn’t very useful and it makes it harder to do simple tasks than if I just did it myself. Riddled with errors. Can’t see anyone using this. I feel stupider having tried this. That said I believe it will soon make human cognition redundant and eradicate us all.
