We nearly committed tax evasion unknowingly because a customer of ours was from the EU and only mentioned VAT laws 5 months into a commission! We realized we couldn't charge him USA tax but that he was subjected to the 19% VAT tax!

If you're selling digital goods or services from anywhere in the world, EU laws require you to register for a VAT number and charge tax on B2C (business to customer) sales.
