I don't know if it's rabbit season or duck season. I do know that it's Weight Gain Season. Cold weather gives me a large appetite. Bitterly cold weather gives me a gargantuan appetite. January is the worst month of the year for weight loss diets.

This is Interstate 80 in Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats. If the January diet gurus were in charge of highway speed limits, this would be a 25 mph zone instead of an 80 mph zone.

This is my best air purifier of all - a DIY box fan air purifier with filters attached to the back. It's almost as effective as a #CorsiRosenthalBox but is more portable and takes up less space.

The fact that most people are taking NO precautions can only make it more important to follow precautions. My top two tiers contain the most obvious/proven/no-brainer precautions. The precautions on the left are the most convenient ones.

I have a much quicker and cheaper mask fit testing procedure. The best masks prevent me from smelling or tasting the sweetened spray. Decent masks allow me to faintly smell and taste it, and lousy masks allow me to distinctly smell and taste it.

I'm sharing what I've learned about masks/respirators and my opinions on which ones are best so that others don't have to reinvent the wheel. When sharing indoor air with other people, I don't use anything below the A tier, and I'm never again buying anything below the C tier.

I'm following a number of precautions. The top two tiers of precautions are the most obvious, proven, and no-brainer precautions. The precautions on the left are the more convenient ones. It's ironic that I've stepped up my precautions at a time when everyone has been back-pedaling.
