Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has sent a video in Congressional District 7 urging people to early vote. He mentions Tennessee and conservative valued but never says the word "Republican," nor does he name any candidate.

Congressional District 7 Republican nominee Matt Van Epps is doing a call-in tonight with President Donald Trump. In my educated opinion, this indicates concern about the outcome of the race on behalf of Republicans: Trump endorsements reliably turn out the GOP base.

Several somebodies going to have a bad day tomorrow. Bring out the Gimp!

One thing you can say about Team Trump, they're always loyal to candidates taking one for the team. #sarcasm

Polls must be bad: after receiving criticism from Republicans and Democrats, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is kicking in $5 million to help cover SNAP shortages caused by the federal government shut down. around 700,000 Tennesseans have had their food benefits cut.

President Donald Trump has already endorsed U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles, who has opposition in the August 2026 Republican primary from former Tennessee Ag Secretary Charlie Hatcher. A Trump endorsement carries a lot of weight in GOP primaries.

Hey, look! It's a @tennesseelookout.com team sighting in the wild! We were proud to support the Tennessee Coalition for Open Government "Salute to Open Government" event last night. Thank God for TCOG, champions of the First Amendment.

Iris, 9, said she wishes Dolly Parton was president (likely echoing what many Tennesseans think!)

Serious question about "Nashville 9-1-1": is Dixie Bangs related to the Bang This twins?

Latest from Decision Desk HQ, which has called the GOP race for Matt Van Epps. AP has not called it yet.

The House Freedom Fund, which is backing Rep. Jody Barrett in the 7th Congressional District GOP
primary, isn't taking in stride today's Trump endorsement of former Tennessee Commissioner of General Services Matt Van Epps.

Relevant to those of you following the Tennessee CD 7 saga, in which President Donald Trump endorsed Matt Van Epps in the GOP primary and Rep. Lee Reeves's campaign then folded like a cheap suit, these were on doors in Williamson County this morning:
October 3, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Gov. Bill Lee formally endorsed his former commissioner of General Services Matt Van Epps in the GOP primary for the 7th Congressional District Special Election, which is a week from today. That primary looks too close to call but if Van Epps loses, it's another ding on Lee's juice as a leader.

Holy smokes. I would expect Molder has been working on verbal commits and called them in after his announcement yesterday, but nonetheless, this is pretty big.
September 5, 2025 at 4:07 PM
I'm in Columbia, Tennessee as Mayor Chaz Molder announces he will run as a Democrat against U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles, a Republican from Tennessee's 5th District. Molder is the third Democrat to enter the race and will need to get through the primary before facing Ogles.

From the "uneven fields of justice beat:" the Tennessee Bar Association reports disgraced former Sen. Brian Kelsey gets his law license back after pleading guilty to federal campaign finance charges, spending two weeks in Club Fed and getting pardoned by President Donald Trump.
