I have a bunch by some "Mads" guy and a handful of others. Nothing crazy though. None are in the roaming list. Weird.

Without question, file-based apps (dotnet run app.cs). It's a game changer for so many scenarios.

If these people actually had the capacity to feel embarrassed about anything at all they might actually change their behavior. But they don't and they won't.

That's the worst kind of man cold. Hope you feel better soon!

Out of curiosity, what percentage of your clients use SQL managed instances vs. AzureSQL?

What language/terminology do you use internally to differentiate "Razor" features that are Blazor flavored vs MVC/Razor Pages?
October 29, 2025 at 3:31 AM
Are all of these Razor editor improvements going to be available for MVC Views and Razor Pages or are they Blazor only? Asking for a few (million?) friends. 😂

so 'process: <path-to>\dotnet.exe' will exclude child processes of dotnet.exe, but not dotnet.exe itself. Need to add the "dir" exclusion as well. Not sure it will make a difference though.

learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powers...

you can do it in the UI too (same thing)
October 21, 2025 at 3:27 AM
In the interest of tweaking, not sure if it will make a difference for your testing, but it might be worth it to add those executables via -ExclusionPath too.

I do the same thing and it works well and is most likely good enough, but I'm old school and I miss the full system recovery from a system image failsafe 😁

What defender exclusions are you using now?
October 21, 2025 at 2:02 AM
The OG setup of NTFS + targeted defender exclusions felt faster than dev drive. I like having a dedicated SSD for code and packages but might go back to NTFS + exclusions approach for full compatibility. Backup and imaging tools don't always work well with ReFS.

Do you happen to know what the upgrade path will look like for Visual Studio 2026 Insiders once the final version is out? Will Insiders remain as a stand alone installation as was the case with prior VS previews and users will need to install the release version again side-by-side?

We should all agree, no more using the word "ANTIFA". Say "Anti-fascist" from now on. Make them say that being anti-fascist is bad.
October 12, 2025 at 8:18 PM
You're absolutely right!

Well, if it's the Final Declaration then it has to be true.

It's even more depressing when you think about the transformative impact that kind of investment could have had on renewable energy or healthcare or any number of things that could make society better off.

What would you think of something like the Beelink SER 8 or 9?
September 15, 2025 at 7:59 PM
Are you not allowed to build your own? It has to be from an SI?

Something that's getting lost in the AI mania, the art and science of refactoring large code bases. Real (Developer's) life is not all green fields as far as the eye can see. This is so rarely discussed.
