Some interesting things you missed IMHO...
1. The RIAA settlement successfully pierced the corporate veil and put Mark Gorton on the hook personally for the $105m
2. LimeWire was running a MP3 store at the end that ran on subscriptions of monthly credits (that was basically competing with eMusic)

Nice. I'd love to see some of these folks go deeper into multi-source playback but these are a good start!
