Literally just had this conversation today, lamenting on how many used to be in the city.

Screaming into the void like this does nothing but allow me to get the thoughts out of my mind and breath a little deeper and easier.

I don’t think that any art is for “everyone”, since art is personal and our responses to it are also subjective due to our own perception of it. The mean ones are just so loud. I don’t need a dm telling me how untalented I am. I don’t need the comments saying I should stop creating.

I hate it. I’m not looking for sunshine and roses and flattery. I don’t need praise. I’m just so tired of putting myself into something and having it shit upon. People are mean.

At some point, all the negative bs seeped into the cracks of my self confidence and expanded to fully shatter it. Even if I can objectively say I created something “good” I fear that dismissal of my work. It’s hard to share any of it when doubt clouds my view.
