Did I do my acknowledge ‘correctly’ by Waccamaw standards—I still have no idea as I haven’t seen one modeled & haven’t gotten a reply to my email. But I have tried to carry my practice forward as I have been taught & as is expected of me.

land acknowledgment is not presently part of SC practice. But is now part of mine, though, so with some explanation I acknowledged territory at the opening of both my sessions. I used Google to determine correct pronunciations by watching video clips from/about Waccamaw people…

Many teaching re. #AI in #education seem loathe —or disinclined—to address AI sustainability & human impacts. Even free tools ‘cost’: The companies behind them need electricity, water for cooling, raw materials for hardware, etc. to keep running—& users train the AI whose higher tier models cost $

Trying to keep the #education sector current with #technology is an ouroboros involving upskilling all stakeholders from professors in faculties of education to teachers working in the classroom—as well as the administrators, IT, and support staff—at virtually the same time. #Edtech #AIEd #BCEd
