Like Kelsey, though, my friend and I were stressed out. I had nightmares about drowning and / or starving cats for a week afterwards. It didn’t help that my Nora is all black.

My beautiful cat Nora just had her 6th birthday. She loves sitting on the back of the sofa so she can keep an eye on the birds and squirrels at the birdbath in the courtyard.
Nora, a beautiful black cat with greenish-yellow eyes, sits in a loaf shape on the back of a grey sofa. She’s right beside a window from which she monitors birdbath activity in the courtyard. She is perhaps the most beautiful black cat ever.

I found a baby pigeon with a broken leg and took her to a wildlife rehab center who raised her to an adult. Then they let me be present when they released her back into her original neighborhood!
Poor baby pigeon is huddled on a dirty concrete sidewalk. Some of her feathers are still baby fluff, especially on her head and chest where they’re yellow and stringy. She’s bright-eyed. Baby pigeon is at the wildlife rehab center. A rehabber with white nitrile gloves is holding her standing up. She has a splint on her right leg. She has a very concerned look on her face. Her yellow baby feathers are decorating the top of her head. Baby pigeon is standing on her own! She’s on a green towel sprinkled with small wood chips or seed husks (can’t tell which). She looks somewhat bewildered. Her yellow fluffy feathers on her head are especially festive.

Jeez, Gonz, I haven’t logged on in a few days. What a dismal series of posts and responses here. Please know I am sending warm (not like celeries warm) and loving tummy rubs to you and your siblings. Here is my beautiful Nora who has a lovely tummy.

In reality, she’s got rusty red fur that only shows up in the sunlight, and her eyes are green in the middle changing to yellow at the edge. She is so beautiful and soft. She has one of her brother’s pale hairs on her chest and it looks silly.

I thought of the Smoking Cat Controversy the minute I saw this delightful weathered sticker on a guardrail in Seattle.
A black and white sticker of a tabby cat apparently smoking a cigarette. He looks like a real badass. Looks like the original photo is from around the 1950s - 1960s (but that’s just a guess).

I have a *real* Nora and she is currently in the bedroom snoozing with her brother Hank. She is a beauty queen.

Hank helped with the Christmas cards. If he’d been too busy doing his own cat stuff, I’d never have gotten them done.
