You cannot sell low on a player of Petterssons caliber without exhausting every possibility, you have to try and work with him after JT has been dealt to make it work.

I don’t think we’re ever going to see the best of Pettersson playing for a coach like Tocchet. Doesn’t mean they can’t be good, but that’s not a marriage that’s going to excel either imo

His top and average speed have gone from like 90+ percentile to sub 50th percentile. Something’s clearly not right with him.

He was a top10 player heading into the all star break last year. It’s been less than a calendar year. He’s temperamental and struggles to find his game when he loses it.
He’s also clearly struggling with something physically and I don’t think the org is in the same page as him with it.

I don’t believe for a second they have a healthy dynamic in that room, and I’m not writing anyone off because that shit can derail great teams and great players imo.
