It's not a new observation that spelling and grammar checkers are actively getting worse, but they continue to surprise with just how inane their recommendations can be.
A screenshot from a word document with the words "own good." ending a sentence. The suggested correction is to remove the quotation marks because "one punctuation mark is all that's needed" despite the clear and obvious fact that this is both the end of a sentence AND the end of someone speaking.

Finally made WIP progress tonight including a brief appearance from small toad friend. He's far from a major figure in the story but I like him.

Have I... actually opened the manuscript for book 2 again? Is this what progress feels like?

I read this in one sitting and Kevin Barry continues to have such a way with words. There were so many sentences I'd stop and reread, just to savor the feel of them.

Our boys are back together!
