It’s “Mosquito Monday”! This tiny little mozzie is Tripteroides atripes. It is associated with natural and artificial water-holding containers and while it bites, isn’t thought to play a major role in pathogen transmission. 🦟

Merlin is a great piece of software. In EU, however, the algorithm often gets it wrong. @naturalis.bsky.social and @xeno-canto.bsky.social made AvesEcho. Specialised in EU birds. It is open source and integrated into Xeno-canto. Competition is good. Ultimately all models benefit!
