Depends a lot on the PSR changes mooted I think for the season after next. Hopefully stopping incentivising clubs to sell academy players will be one outcome, but somehow I doubt it!

Not sure about that. I think the expectation for this game is similar to Toon at home (i.e we should lose). Neutrals will say that none of our players would get into their starting 11. Hard to disagree. I hope a) we show that we’ve learned from the Arsenal game and b) that I’m wrong #lufc

Be delighted with that. Away in London is not normally a happy hunting ground 😬. Fulham are tough to beat at their place as well, so it'll be a really good indicator of how much we've learnt from Arsenal.

If he's right, and we get in two £30m players on 3y contracts in Jan (say), then I think that means we need to raise £20m before end of June? i.e. I don't think we'd need to sell in Jan. I may be completely wrong ...

A few goals from open play and the mood will lift. I think we've recruited well middle and back, but overreliant on DCL staying fit (and finding the back of the net when he is!). Nmetcha still an unknown wrt to goals. Can't be confident on depending on Piroe in the PL. Step forward Harry Gray!

If we want to land a proper difference maker, we have to leave it late. Imagine if we land an amazing loan in the last few hours of the window - that could be the difference between staying up or not ... so the recruitment team have to take the risk and leave it late. It is a risk though

ie Agents only get paid once their player has played a certain number of games - may make them less likely to pitch their youngster to Chelsea!

As clubs play U21s, U18, etc agreeing the right number of under contract players may prove to be impossible. Personally I think putting more controls on Agents is a good place to start - in my view they're primarily responsible for the lack of integrity in the game!

We're in a weak position to get anyone decent and will have to wait until the end of the window to see who's left. I don't understand why anyone thinks we can force a player to sign, especially if they rate themselves and think they can land a mid table PL club. A decent loan or 2 on Monday?

Not sure how much control the authorities should/could have on the number of players on the books not in the EPL 25. In the end the Clubs have to take some blame for offering the contracts, but the Players and Agents can always choose not to join a club where they're unlikely to play. Money talks!
