#AustraliaDay

You know, you can love this country AND respect our First Nations people.

Respecting Indigenous Australians is in fact a perfect way of showing love for this country.

Let’s celebrate Australia Day by all means. But just change the bloody date. Why so hard?

bpMRI = mpMRI accuracy ->

PSA/bpMRI SOC ->

makes PSA/bpMRI population screening feasible

Except: PSMA PET to eventually replace bpMRI upfront:
- diagnose + stage in 1 scan
- less reader variation
- reserve MRI for anatomical detail/focal therapy planning.

Meanwhile, learn to read MRI!

Hello @bsky.social!

I’m an intentional Twitter refugee, a conscientious objector to its toxic algorithms.

I hope this platform will instead evoke the better angels of our nature.

The moment you judge is the moment you become a hypocrite.

Replace judging with compassionate curiosity.

Then everybody wins. Especially you.

Great Expectations

How #focaltherapy could change what we expect from #prostatecancer treatment.

I'll be voting YES! Because I want to live in a country that recognises 65,000 years of Indigenous culture in our constitution. Listening through a Voice means we'll work together to create a better future. Want the selfie? #VoteYES #yes23 ⁦@yes23au⁩

Would you have called this MRI positive for cancer?

No, neither would I.

But PSA was 6.8, F/T ratio only 8% and PSAD 0.34, so I did a systematic TP biopsy.

12mm Gl 4+3 (90% pattern 4) right anterior.

Beware high PSAD, low F/T ratio even when MRI neg!

Updating GPs at Melbourne #HealthEd on PSA testing for #prostatecancer.

Why harms of testing have plummeted in the last 5 years.

Doing it all again at #HealthEd Sydney this Saturday. See you there!

#Radiologists and #urologists, when you report/read a #prostate #MRI, how do you know if you read it right?

Know your own reporting accuracy.

Dr Tobias Maurer argues the case for PSMA PET for #ProstateCancer upfront staging.

PSMA PET reimbursed in Australia for staging as of 2 days ago. 🥊🦘

Brave effort from @mrsprostate presenting from afar while clearly suffering from Covid! 🤧

MRI visible #prostatecancer 3x more likely post-treatment PSA recurrence than MRI-invisible disease.

Hearing this theme over and over and it’s only day 1 at #EAU22!

@dr_coops:

MRI is standard of care pre-biopsy but HUGE inter-reader variability.

Need proper training + QA for prostate MRI:
