Most people think commercial sailing ships died out around 1900. In fact, a fleet of them survived in #Seattle until 1950. My upcoming YA historical fiction novel, The Stowaway's Secret, now in preorder, is set on one of those ships, the fictional J.M. Carson. #writing #historicalfiction #sailing
