behold, a recollection of my weird dream last night
i was in college or something but i was in london for my fist class and apparently i was taking that class plus the next one with, joe and we had to get on a 1:45 bus to get to new york and i was very worried about missing it 50 we got to the elevator around 1:30 and it was gigantic because you know how new york elevators are huge because there so many people and yes, we were still in london but this was a huge new york elevator and it only went down to the first floor CUT TO my next class, which was apparently a baking/cooking class with joe and also my mother in law and in my brain it was a lefse class (lefse is this really thin potato/flour crepe) but my crepes looked more like injera or dosa and i thought we had to roll them out but mine were already rolled out and i kept tearing them, and my MIL didn't roll hers out thin enough but she made weird designs

today i learned the etymology of the word "panic" and it's PRETTY GREAT
The word "panic" derives from antiquity and is a tribute to the ancient god Pan. One of the many gods in the mythology of ancient Greece, Pan was the god of shepherds and of woods and pastures. The Greeks believed that he often wandered peacefully through the woods, playing a pipe, but when accidentally awakened from his noontime nap he could give a great shout that would cause flocks to stampede. From this aspect of Pan's nature Greek authors derived the word panikos, “sudden fear,” the ultimate source of the English word: "panic". The Greek term indicates the feeling of total fear that is also sudden and often attributed to the presence of a god.
