Yesterday the Trump administration said it would not use any of the approximately $6 billion the U.S.

❤️ Rebuild our sense of “we.” Programs like SNAP were born when Americans decided no one should starve in a land of plenty. Let’s remember that promise - and defend it.

And…be social, the positive change you want to see in the world. Chat with the people around you & encourage neighbors, faith groups, local associations - turn “someone else’s problem” into OUR problem in your everyday conversations. Compassion is not a weakness - it’s the backbone of democracy.

You should also support small businesses that depend on SNAP customers - remember that when people can’t feed themselves, the whole local economy weakens.

(When you do this, think about what you can do for the long haul - over several months or even years. Note: This is not a one-time thing where you get to cop out saying, “I called my local food bank and they said they were inundated with donations/volunteers so they don’t need me.”)

Help while we resist the use of starvation as a means of control. Donate or volunteer at local food banks and community pantries. Hunger relief isn’t partisan…it’s patriotic. Find local food banks: feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank.

In every single conversation you have, refuse to let anyone shrug this off as “politics.” Democracy only works if we make noise when it’s abused.

So, stop sharing the memes without checking the sources and instead, support journalists and watchdog organizations who keep exposing this stuff.

💪 Don’t let cruelty become normal. Talk about it. Post about it YOURSELF, without a “share” - your opinion matters to the people you know on social media.

📣 Hold your representatives accountable. Call, write, or show up. Ask: “Do you support funding SNAP and using USDA reserves to feed families?” Find yours here: usa.gov/elected-officials.

Stop thinking along party lines and across the board, support candidates who defend programs like SNAP and who take the Hatch Act - and basic decency - seriously.

At the most basic level, promoting mass starvation in the United States of America is a policy choice - and policy is made by the people we send to Congress and the White House.

Here are some things every American should do… (as a #thread):
October 26, 2025 at 5:07 AM
When you’re holding $6 billion in food reserves in the United States of America and still say “let them starve,” you’ve stopped governing.

What are we doing here…and what will YOU do about it?
October 26, 2025 at 5:07 AM
Coming to American towns and cities near you: breadlines and rationing…?! 😳 While the actions of the President, the Senate, the House of Representatives and the Supreme Court all chorus, “Let them eat cake?”

No way.
