Closely related to the “major questions” doctrine holding that decisions by Dem administrations are subject to strict scrutiny and the unitary (Republican) executive.

It’s possible to call out racism without trying to minimize or even excuse antisemitism as you have done here.

Don’t forget, he was scoring heroin on the regular while working as a Manhattan ADA locking up addicts under the Rockefeller drug laws. Dude’s a sociopath.

Look at his proposals. Raise the minimum wage and rural broadband are longtime Dem priorities. Universal childcare is slightly more ambitious than prior proposals. Free college is an election loser. Rage on about rampant inequality, corruption, etc. But there’s nothing radical about the agenda.

I know it’s hard for people to consider but maybe, just maybe, Clinton, while certainly guilty of skeevy behavior in his past, didn’t do anything untoward because he knew his every move would become a scandal.

This pretty much encapsulates the Bluesky experience.

Republicans killed the subsidies and they were never going to bring them back. So the better question is, how much suffering are you willing to inflict on the country to eventually force Rs to kill the filibuster and impose their budget with still no subsidies and zero concessions?

Finally a voice of reason.

Please explain how continuing the shutdown produces a better result.
November 10, 2025 at 6:57 PM
That seems correct, actually. And if the vote happens, Dems can yoke it to the Republicans in time for the 26 midterms. Now, tell me how continuing the shutdown produces a better result?

Every business Trump has ever been involved in eventuality turns to shit.

I think he will use the pulpit to continue to use reckless rhetoric that sometimes veers from anti-Israel to antisemitic. He will elevate those voices. And the fact that neither he nor anyone else on the left seems troubled by this textbook antisemitic statement is distressing.
October 31, 2025 at 2:42 AM
That usually leads to violence. We have seen in the past year a huge spike in antisemitism in Europe under the guise of anti Israel. Demonstrations have turned into hate fests. What would he do as Mayor? Imagine him as Mayor on October 8, 2023. That’s a frightening thought.

I don’t believe Mamdani has a conscious animus against Jews. That’s not how antisemitism works. He’s not going to force Jews to wear gold stars if that’s what you mean. Blaming Jews for police brutality in NYC isn’t just nonsensical. It’s textbook antisemitism that promotes hatred against Jews.

This is giving off Tulsi Gabbard vibes except this time it’s the antisemites rushing to defend him.

The event here in Montclair was run by the Democratic Party and featured Mikie Sherrill, Andy Kim, and Ken Martin.

Thank you Bill Kristol for standing up for principle.

So far the only thing Israel and Hamas have agreed to is essentially the same as the previous cease fire Netanyahu reneged on except the 20 remaining hostages would be released more quickly, which is something. The rest - disarming and governance- is still disputed.
October 4, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Guess I jumped to a conclusion. I’ve spent too much time on this app listening to everyone trashing anyone perceived as moderate. I don’t care what Dems do or who we nominate. We just have to win.
October 2, 2025 at 2:49 AM
Yeah what a disaster. The second coming of a guy who won two elections. The horror!

I live in NJ and Sherrill is a fine candidate who flipped our Congressional seat and won a hard-fought primary against other fine candidates. If you think a candidate like AOC would win in NJ, you don’t know the state.
