Hope to see friends and colleagues around #srcd25! My lab started off with 3 posters in the first session, with another Thursday afternoon and the an undergrad led poster Friday morning! 🥳 Super proud of these students!

Very excited to be at #srcd25! Not excited to stand in line for an hour to get my registration badge this morning, through a giant open space convention center with NO seating. At least I got to catch up with friends in line! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Planning for accessibility includes ample seating.

So our dictator-in-chief has announced that transgender service members are being banned from the military. This is not only unconstitutional & cruel, it is a colossal waste of $. Highly recommend this episode of the Outward podcast to learn more from people on the front lines of this fight.

The conference room is dedicated to / named after A.S. Edwards, the first licensed psychologist in the state of Georgia and our long-time department head. Edwards had been a graduate student under EB Titchener. Edwards was department head from 1919-1951.

Random post in the midst of (gestures) ALL THIS, but I discovered recently that Michael Tomasello got his PhD in my department (UGA Psychology), and so a copy of his dissertation has been sitting on a shelf down the hall from my office for the last 27 years. #psychsky #developmentalpsychology

Never forget that that petty, childish man was the first President in 150 years not to attend his successor’s inauguration. Respect must be earned. 🇺🇸

Big mood. Signed, my university starts the spring semester a week earlier than everyone else and we all hate it

RIP to the greatest man to ever serve as US President. May honesty, decency, and character return to that office one day. Photo from Dec 2014 in Plains GA. (Mrs. Carter was ill that day but we got to meet her on a later visit).

Day two of the @fabbs.org Council meeting in DC has already been full of excellent speakers from federal funding agencies, talking about the importance of social and behavioral science across all areas of scientific inquiry.

Excited to be in DC for the annual Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences Board and Council meeting. @fabbs.org is such an important organization for advocacy for behavioral science funding at the federal level. Colleagues, make sure your professional societies are affiliated.

It’s complete nonsense that UGA and Texas might have to play each other for a THIRD time in this scenario? Please use some common sense to avoid repeat matchups unless absolutely necessary #cfplayoffs @universityofga.bsky.social @espnplus.bsky.social

Realized I need to post a bit instead of just joyscrolling, so here’s my 90 year old mom and her 91 year old childhood friend. Buddies since age 5, first visit in nearly a decade. I’ve had the trip planned for months. “Do the thing, don’t just talk about it” , trying to do that more.

First intro psych lecture since Tuesday, and today’s topic is stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination. Thought today would be a good day to whip out my @strictscrutiny.bsky.social shirt. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🏳️‍⚧️

Very blessed to get to celebrate my mom‘s 90th birthday with her today
She is healthy, sassy, and just a joy to have around. After working for a week of early voting, she’ll be helping Georgia elections run smoothly with a 13+ hour day tomorrow. 💞

Congrats to my graduate student Addison Montroy who successfully defended her Master’s Thesis today, while sporting an on-theme shirt. Very proud!

The symbolism of this "closing argument" speech to an estimated crowd of 75,000 supporters at the Ellipse, the same spot where Trump encouraged his supporters to "fight like hell" on Jan 6, is powerful. This is the story of the day, don't get distracted.

Our favorite election worker was too busy inside to come out and pose with us, which is fantastic. First time that all four of us could vote for president. 🇺🇸 🗳️ ✅👩🏽‍💼 America, let’s not screw this up. 🚫 🍊🚫 #gapol
