a mere three weeks later and i am beginning to see callus forming on some of my yangmei leaf bits! 🤩 (it’s the weird bumpy whiteish stuff distorting the leaf). it’s basically a mass of undifferentiated cells that don’t know what their job is yet. soon i will try to convince them to grow new shoots 😁

our biology greenhouse has two (!) devil’s tongue mini corpse flowers (amorphophallus konjac) in bloom right now! they’re so cute compared to the giant corpse flower that bloomed last year 🤩🤩

i cut the sterilized twigs into little pieces, trying to leave at least one node per piece, and stuck them in some tubes and petri dishes filled with special plant growy hormone jello and table sugar 3/

i sterilized the yangmei (and some bonus feijoa) twig bits in a jar of tap water using an aquatab sterilizer tablet so here’s to hoping 🤞 2/
