Midnight, no oasis.

Had to dig another kitty grave. Breaking Dr. Rose; how many times can she say, "I can't do this anymore"?

And she's been offered a psych forensic tech job, but in Las Vegas, NM, an hour south of us.

Plus our lease is up, we have to move and fast-track the TNR on outside cats.

Pinon, left, well, he left. 2 weeks ago. Hangs out with the outsiders, taking his sweet a$$ time coming back home.

Currently hiding behind door while Dr. Rose entices him with a silk bathrobe belt. And chicken chunks.

Last year she lured him back, and I slammed the dam door on him. Suckered. Take2

Eddie and Pinon wish the best for you gatos and all their staff (LOL)

Pinon is on the left and outside for now, but his Mom told him yesterday he better come back in or else (or else she'll really start cry)

Freckles will laser-eye you.

Picture for effect (nice, hmmm?) Since we're talking abt children, no jokes.

But he couldn't stay in Stormy's room for "hours," so WTF?

Gratitude time again. Our friend replaced our truck's alternator after buying one on eBay.0
We still don't know where we're moving or when. Proposed 6 months to the investor, since we've been here 5 years. Hoping he replies tomorrow.
Dr. Rose had a good job interview, they called her references.

Piñon (left) is not cooperating in our efforts to recapture him. More efforts mañana.
November 4, 2025 at 7:02 AM
Keep them prayers praying, please. He taunted us and sent a minion to the catch-box (we don't like "trap"); watched as I set him free (his buddy got some chikn).

Tomorrow is mine, Pinon. You'll be the nut when I take apart your roost. Plus they say I have an extra hour of daylight, so suck it.

Way back when, Blue Rose of Hope was home to goats, horses, and other critters. None could match Miss Luna, the best horse who ever escaped a grim and gritty urban existence to live out her best life in our care. RIP, Luna.

Gratitude drives thankfulness and encourages our Universe to deliver more good stuff. Exile the bad stuff, don't focus on it.

It's easy to say when you have a chunk in the bank (we will ... manana, after our brother's donation goes through).

Yay. And Love is the only answer worth seeking (RIP AZ).

Did I mention the kittens are cute and growing (and socializing...fun!)?
October 28, 2025 at 4:41 AM
Prayers up, Bluesky Warriors: our Piñon slipped outside and is taking his sweet time coming back in. Get back, boy, your mama's crying.

Blue October here at the Sanctuary. Cooler nites are heralding our autumnal shift, and this fall has a major shift in our lives: Our lease here is not being renewed.

Before moving, we will be working with Doc Brown to get the outsiders fixed; that's been our plan, we're moving the timeline up now.

Mr. Happy has a diamond mohawk that's as distinctive as he is loving.

It's Gratitude Day here at the Sanc. Sister Sue's check arrived AND was more than we expected AND was cleared into bank, so no waiting til Monday. Thanks, Sue.

More sad sanctuary duties today, buried a pair of Pippi's kittens, who may have had FIP. It's prevalent in the neighbor's colony, and we've lost several already (although our Gracie miraculously responded to alternative treatment and beat the odds).
This twin rainbow kept me company while I dug.

Kitten season continues: After bringing in Pippi and her kits, plus a few others, we filled our spare room with cat beds, cat trees, and, oh, yes, cats.

Pippi wasn't done; she dropped a new litter on us last week. Another trip to Doc Brown. Can you help with expenses? See here: gofund.me/65bd6caf

Well, let's see if Pippi can Mama one more. We brought a little black floof in from outside, where today's late-summer storm lashed the ground with rain and hail.

We been watching this guy, he has no mama; eats at a plate with Puff Daddy (his literal dad).

So Dr Rose said scoop him, and we did.
September 14, 2025 at 2:13 AM
She's fixed!

No, Cookie wasn't broken, but she and Daisy got tutored by the vet and broke the chain of kittens having kittens.

We saved dozens more kittens here, and they're all in line for vet checks and shots. Please donate to our fundraiser or share it with your friends: gofund.me/73eeae34

These babies are growing and getting more social; playtime is fun for all. The gingers (background) are joined by Freckles (middle) and Creamsicle (on left). Pepper Jack is on the right.
More mouths to feed, and more vet visits to arrange.

Can you help donate or share our link?

Woke to a migrainous situation. Usually remedies: cannabis, coffee, excedrin all applied. Finally tried one haven't used before: welcoming 6 new kitters to the Blue Rose of Hope Animal Sanctuary.

Nice job, Pippi. We're breathing easier that swollen belly wasn't another case of FIP in the colony.
August 28, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Well, what do I Know? This little Ctrl-Power combo might bring the fried HP back to life.

Reset in process.

Kitties are getting more social. A light tabby with a diamond between his ears comes up to food dish as we spoon it out. He looks like Bruce, our original tabby. Vocal, just like this one.

Pi$$ing down rain here at Blue Rose of Hope Animal Sanctuary; the ferals have hunkered down ... in the barn, under the mobile, and under the house. 3 queens, no waiting, except we have to wait til next week for Doc Brown.

Prayers there's no more hanky-panky til then. Any helpful anti-aphrodesiacs?
