they do give me nothing but sibling/platonic soulmates feels, i'll be honest. but who knows, maybe the right fic will come along and convince me otherwise, lol

my personal experiences obviously makes me biased, and i don't expect anyone else to agree. i love both of them dearly, but they'll never be endgame in my hc.

they always gave me such comphet vibes. canon seems to say james decided she's the one before he even got to know her, and lily tells him no for so long before she finally caves, which... ok, so i've experienced something similar, and there is nothing romantic about that. it's just claustrophobic.

to be clear, i don't support jkr in any way, and i do see the harry potter books for the deeply flawed, frankly disappointing mess that they are. i only read/write marauders fanfiction. and yes, i do read other other authors, lol

my 2 cents: i was only 8 when the first book came out, and i became a huge fan right away. hp was braided into my child- and teenhood in a way i can't easily untangle from. i don't expect anyone to agree or understand, but it brings me joy to reclaim that part of me in the marauders fandom.

yeah, my personal headcanon is that jily married too young to last in the long run, which gives jegulus a second chance once reg has sorted himself out. (my optimistic take is that reg faked his death in the cave to get out of the death eaters.)
