Loved working on this #youthempowerment project. And great to see the video. Definitely worth 3 mins to watch the passion from doing #participatorybudgeting in action 👍
💥 Youth is having their Say 💥 Loving the video from #chooseforcheetham2025, where young people and applicants voted on £230,000 funding (yes, that's right... £230K) for youth development activities in Cheetham Hill, in Manchester through #participatorybudgeting.

It's finally here. Excited to see the launch of our latest #citizensjury report. Museums are our cultural representatives over time. Let see them celebrate and include everyone. #deliberativedemocracy
The 1st ever #citizensjury in a museum in the UK. We are excited to see how other cultural institutions build on its learnings. Zak and Sara, co-CEOs of Birmingham Museums Trust, say: “This is a significant step forward for BMT. A new chapter in the city’s museums story."

Big cultural institutions matter in setting the tone for an inclusive, fair and equal society. Not least if they get significant public funding (and they should, esp. outside the capital city). It's sad that so many everyday people never cross their threshold, when they have so much to offer us all.
“The ideas that are coming out of it are really thrilling and exciting!”

Sara Wajid, @Birmingham Museum Co-CEO, on the experience of holding the UK’s first citizens’ jury in a museum.

We've really enjoyed helping make it happen!
