Non-native English speakers commonly use online tools "as a crutch". Google Translate and Search are AIs too.

No ESL speaker in the last 20+ years goes without using "crutches" for our writing. You're judging harsh something you don't really understand. No amount of learning can make anyone native.

I completely agree with you otherwise, but I dislike when people go "ohno computers use *gasp* resources!" as if this wasn't an economic issue. Using AI as a toy is one thing, but used as a tool it('s supposed to) bring humanity more benefits than costs. (That's ofc ignoring other ethical problems)

I'm a software developer, and when I use AI to generate code, 98% of time I get back total garbage. It requires my own SKILL to recognize the 2% of genuinely useful stuff it spewed out. I imagine it's the same for artists. No professional will use any AI output directly without questioning.
