That should read "scale of the Pays de" not "scale or"
As a casual student of history who needs Google to translate "pays de", and "Seigneur", isn't this equivalent to an estate or territory, so wouldn't it be just territory, land, estate, or fiefdom depending on the scale or the Pays de. (ChatGPT also suggests Seignuerie (manor), Duchy, and Marquisate)

And! @thebhp.bsky.social I didn't even mention that I could walk ten minutes down the road and look across the water at the New Forest. Makes me smile inside each time my local area gets mentioned in the podcast. Very much looking forward to hearing how Rufus Stone got its name...
I only got the Bedminster reference because I have just (literally within the last hour) finished Stuff You Should Know's episode on John DeLorean, who owned the Bedminster estate before Trump! The frequency of coincidences like this blows my mind.
