Robert Earl Keen was on the LH showcase bill and I'd pay good money to hear his backstage perspective on that crazy ass evening!

I flipped a coin between that Lost Highway showcase & Black Crowes at Stubbs that night. Don't think I saw the better performance, but it was memorable. Got to hear Neal's take on it while he restrung his axe at a festival ten+ years later and he confirmed it was as wild as I recalled if not more so

Neal was in Lucinda's band for a hot minute in 2001, including a wild night at SXSW where she and Ryan Adams were at the Lost Highway showcase. Ryan played agro FU punk instead of LH material (LH put a parental advisory on the doors after soundcheck) & Lu almost missed her Leibovitz shoot next AM.

In 2000, I was gifted "Anytime Tomorrow" by a girlfriend who had her dad mail copies from the UK. Managing a CD store at the time, I still found it nearly impossible to get my hands on the rest of his catalog. "Fade Away Diamond Time" and "Anytime" are desert island for me. Perfect albums, no notes.

Now Jon is dropping xERA for the first time in a tweet for Knizner's fellow CAA rep, Joey Lucchesi! 🤔

Right?!
(also probably for the best he wasn't raised in Miami's Little Havana)

Honestly, that's probably where I picked it up. 😊

I actually went to BR to check if the Boras Corp represented Andrew.

I think they're likely sold on the bat? Probably comes down to feeling comfortable with him handling the staff.

That path likely includes hurdling several dudes on MiLB deals invited to camp, but as you note, there's no incumbent, so it should be an interesting battle.

He's not hitting much in VZ (.174), but his OBP (.387) suggests he's far from overmatched.

My dear pal Joel's first show. We met through Golden Road tape trading classifieds, he was trying to get every '85 and a lower gen version of Boston Garden '74. Exchanged plenty of tapes & before long were sharing hotel rooms/crash pads in vicinity of GD shows.

9 Minor League seasons: 866.2 IP - 23 HBP
8 MLB Seasons: 860.2 IP - 35 HBP

Maybe he just disliked big leaguers more than minor leaguers.

"OK, now that the discussion has demonstrated definitively that I have no meritorious argument based on fact, I'll stoop to insults about a physique that did nothing to prevent Lowe from earning more than $22 million in baseball."

While abandoning your nonsensical prior arguments is clearly the correct choice (kudos!), exchanging them for surrealist arguments based on fantasy is neither clever nor compelling (whoops!).

Friend, Baseball Reference is free!

re: deploying Lowe "down the stretch":
In Sept/Oct, he hit .261/.361/.391, which is +17 points better than AL batting avg & +33 points better than AL OPS

This all stems from you regarding his 121 OPS+ with BOS as "white flag of surrender," which is flatly WRONG
