All back in one piece and it looks great! Pretty good geometry for a set of this size and age too.

Sadly only 50Hz works as there doesn't seem to be any vertical hold adjustment on this set at all, though there's likely no NTSC decoder anyway as this is a PAL unit.

Anyway, something more positive:

I just composite modded my final RF only portable TV; the Saisho CTR 6.

That's it. All 7 of my portable CRTs are now composite modded. There's nothing left to do!

Update: I fixed the vertical rollover! There was an out of spec capacitor on the vertical deflection circuit. Replaced it with a new 0.1µF film capacitor and it fixed the issue.

This set is now fully restored, and it also now syncs to 60Hz again!
The old 0.1µF 160V capacitor, showing an actual value of 0.258µF and a vloss of 5.1% Sonic the Hedgehog gameplay, now without vertical rollover. System info screen on my Everdrive cart, showing the set now syncs to an NTSC 60Hz console.

Started recapping my Vega 342. Haven't fixed the vertical rollover yet, but the audio quality is considerably better after replacing a completely dead cap. It's so clear and loud now!

I also figured out how to composite mod it. I wasn't going to originally, but the RF tuner has horrible drift.
The old Soviet caps removed from the Vega 342. Some still tested OK, but a couple were completely dead. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 title screen. There is some vertical rollover at the top of the screen, likely caused by a bad capacitor. A guide on how to mod this set for composite video and audio.

Composite modded my 6th CRT! This time the Auritone 80T1.

Took a while to figure it out without schematics (Oscilloscope helped so much looking for that 15.625KHz signal), but this is the best I can do. Still a good result!

Composite modded another TV! This time the Commando National 505.
Composite mod wired up to the back of the main board. L110 has been removed, and the video input goes to the base pin of TR14. A 75 Ohm resistor has been added between the base pin of TR14 and ground. The trace from pin 8 of the audio chip has been cut, and a wire soldered for audio input. The back of the set showing video and audio cables connected. The title screen of Sonic & Knuckles, displayed as a pure composite video signal.

Genius or cursed idea? Powering portable CRT TVs using USB-C PD.

It actually works really well! Got a few USB-C trigger boards, set them to 12V, and wired them up to the 12V DC inputs.
Sony 9-90UB with a USB-C port fitted on the back of the set. A blue LED indicates power. Philips 12B711/15 with a USB-C port fitted on the back of the set. This set is also composite video modded. The title screen of Sonic The Hedgehog on the Sony 9-90UB. Both the Mega Drive and the TV are powered by USB-C PD! Watching On the Buses on the Philips 12B711/15. It's connected to my PC using an HDMI to composite converter.
